Case study · William Shatner Live on Stage
Star Trek on screen. Shatner on stage.
A touring show produced by Mills Entertainment with CAA. Audiences watch a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and then Shatner himself walks out. The campaign had to carry both halves at once.
The credit
Made by Alexandre Chaput, before In Fair Light existed.
The tour artwork, the campaign and the tour website. This is career work from the Mills Entertainment years, shown here because the craft is the same one the studio runs on now.

The identity
One lockup that had to work on a marquee and in a banner ad.
Condensed caps, wide letterspacing, and an outer glow doing the work a drop shadow usually does. It sits on a theatre wall, a phone screen and a 160 pixel skyscraper without being redrawn.

The campaign
Six formats from one piece of art.
Leaderboard, medium rectangle, square, skyscraper and two social sizes. Each one is a different crop of the same idea rather than a different design, which is the whole job of a tour identity. The skyscraper is the hard one: the portrait, the ship and the lockup have to restack vertically and still read at a glance.
The website
Built to get one visitor to one date.
Built in Webflow, with the art prepared in Photoshop and the motion in After Effects. A touring site has a single job, which is to get somebody to the night nearest them, so the nav is four items and the key art does the persuading.

Have something that has to fill a room?
Tour art, campaign work, a launch film. It is the same question every time: what makes somebody buy the ticket.
